When adding an additional insured to any SkyWatch.AI policy, the AI will be listed on the Certificate of Insurance. When a policy is active, you can modify and add an additional insured(s) at any time.
Typical examples of acceptable additional insured include:
- A customer of the policy holder insured
- Any contractor operating for the named insured (operating pilots must be Part 107 certified in order to carry coverage for $2M Liability and up)
- Landowner where the pilot/insured will be flying
- Production company(s) involved with the aerial filming operation
- TV stations, media, etc.
Such entities generally have a connection to the use of the UAS or are causing the UAS to be used.
A Waiver of Subrogation will be provided to the additional insured with respect to the operations of the named insured.
The following are examples of entities that would not be included or covered as additional insureds to your SkyWatch.AI policy:
- Drone repair shops/suppliers
- Entities providing UAS services (i.e. flight planning services, and software services)
- UAS sales organizations
- UAS manufacturers
- Any entity having an association with an airshow
- Insurance brokers, or another insurance company {unless the name insured is providing drone services and operations to them as a client}
