The exclusion 1 (b) reads “To any UAS unless recorded via the SkyWatch system."
Item 4 in the declaration page reads "As recorded and described by the Named insured in the SkyWatch system."
The term "recorded" used here means that the insurance policy was properly filed (or put on record) through the SkyWatch.AI platform.
This is standard insurance language that might cause confusion when discussing drones because it could be assumed that since the flight itself is not recorded through the SkyWatch.AI app, one will not be properly insured.
Rest assured, this is not the case. The term recorded only means that you've successfully purchased a policy, got approval from the app, and a valid copy of the policy to your email.
There is no need to record your flights nor specific drones in the SkyWatch system in order to have liability coverage.
After a policy has been activated, you may use any controller or app to fly and control your drone and record any footage you'd like, and still be 100% covered.
